Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan Pledge to Enhance Bilateral Relations

Islamabad: Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan have reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations. This commitment was emphasized during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Zheenbek Moldokanovich Kulubaev on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders highlighted the importance of sustained high-level exchanges and the timely implementation of understandings reached during significant state visits. These visits include the State Visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to Pakistan in December last year and the official visit of the President of Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan earlier this month.

The discussions covered progress in bilateral cooperation and explored opportunities to expand collaboration in various sectors such as trade, investment, energy, connectivity, business-to-business, and people-to-people contacts. Additionally, both leaders exchanged views on regional and international developments, reaffirming their resolve to work closely in multilateral fora to promote peace, stability, and shared prosperity.

During the meeting, Ishaq Dar congratulated the Kyrgyz Republic on the successful hosting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting and its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2027-2028 term.
