Pakistan and New Zealand PMs Discuss Middle East Situation and Bilateral Ties

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call this afternoon from Prime Minister of New Zealand Christopher Luxon. During their conversation, the two leaders exchanged views on the evolving situation in the Middle East.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif briefed Prime Minister Luxon on Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic outreach and efforts to promote peace and de-escalation in the region. Prime Minister Luxon expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives, including its outreach to both Washington and Tehran, and conveyed his best wishes for the success of the mediation efforts.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing peace, dialogue, and stability in the region and beyond. The two leaders also agreed to strengthen Pakistan-New Zealand bilateral relations, expressing satisfaction with the cordial ties between the two countries. They lauded the role of the Pakistani diaspora in New Zealand.

The Prime Minister extended an invitation to Prime Minister Luxon to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at his earliest convenience. Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact in the days ahead.
