Pakistan and Russia Commit to Strengthening Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation

Moscow: Pakistan and Russia have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral fora, including the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

According to Radio Pakistan, this understanding was reached during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Alexei Overchuk, following the conclusion of the SCO Council of Heads of Government meetings in Moscow.

The meeting involved a comprehensive review of the full spectrum of Pakistan-Russia relations. Both leaders focused on bolstering cooperation across various sectors including political, economic, energy, connectivity, agricultural, industrial, educational, and people-to-people interactions through established institutional mechanisms.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Overchuk highlighted his recent visits and recognized Pakistan’s potential as a regional hub for transit and connectivity. The leaders also exchanged views on important regional and global developments, underscoring their mutual interest in enhancing ties through collaborative efforts.
