Islamabad: Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari has stated that Pakistan and Russia possess significant untapped potential in the areas of trade, energy, education, and connectivity.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister was speaking at a webinar titled “Pakistan-Russia: Strengthening Trade, Education and Energy Collaboration,” which was jointly organized by the University of World Civilizations Moscow and the Institute of Regional Studies. During the event, Leghari emphasized that enhancing economic cooperation and improving transport links could help the bilateral trade between the two nations surpass the billion-dollar mark in the upcoming years.
Leghari noted that the relationship between Pakistan and Russia has experienced positive momentum over the last two decades. He attributed this progress to mutual trust, respect, and a shared commitment to ensuring regional stability. The Minister highlighted the significance of reviving historic land routes through Central Asia and the International North-South Transport Corridor as a means to boost trade between the two countries.
The webinar served as a platform to explore the multifaceted avenues for collaboration, underscoring the importance of developing stronger ties to harness the potential benefits in trade and energy sectors for both nations.
