Pakistan and Russia Pledge to Enhance Cooperation in Trade and Energy

Islamabad: Pakistan and Russia have expressed their commitment to further enhance cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and parliamentary engagement. This commitment was articulated during a meeting between Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexander Babakov on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ayaz Sadiq expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Russia relations. Alexander Babakov conveyed his country’s strong commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan and appreciated the country’s balanced, pragmatic, and responsible approach toward regional and global issues.

In a separate meeting with the Deputy President of the Malaysian Senate, Datuk Nur Jazlan bin Tan Sri Mohamed, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq highlighted the cordial and longstanding relations between Pakistan and Malaysia, which are rooted in mutual trust, respect, and shared values. Datuk Nur Jazlan bin Tan Sri Mohamed acknowledged Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s address at the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference, noting that it effectively underscored Pakistan’s democratic resolve and commitment to regional peace and stability.
