Islamabad: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reached an agreement to initiate steps to declare Islamabad and Riyadh as twin cities. This development was announced following a meeting between Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, and Saudi Deputy Interior Minister, Nasser bin Abdul Aziz Al Dawood, held in the capital city of Pakistan.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, both nations also agreed to implement the existing prisoner exchange agreement. The legal procedures required for the repatriation of 419 Pakistani prisoners currently in Saudi Arabia are expected to be completed soon.
Interior Minister Naqvi emphasized the strong fraternal ties between the two countries and assured full cooperation to enhance bilateral relations. He highlighted the adoption of a zero-tolerance policy towards individuals engaging in begging activities in Saudi Arabia, noting that a nationwide crackdown on such activities is underway.
Additionally, Naqvi stated that Saudi nationals do not require a visa to visit Pakistan, allowing them unrestricted access to the country. Saudi Deputy Interior Minister Al Dawood expressed the Kingdom’s desire to further strengthen its relationship with Pakistan.
