Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to Declare Islamabad and Riyadh as Twin Cities

Islamabad: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reached a mutual understanding to initiate steps towards declaring Islamabad and Riyadh as twin cities. This agreement emerged during a meeting held between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Saudi Deputy Interior Minister Nasser bin Abdul Aziz Al Dawood in Islamabad.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions also included the implementation of a prisoner exchange agreement, with plans to complete the legal process for the repatriation of 419 Pakistani prisoners currently in Saudi Arabia.

Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the brotherly ties between the two nations and assured full cooperation to enhance bilateral relations. He highlighted the adoption of a zero-tolerance policy against beggars traveling to Saudi Arabia, mentioning an effective crackdown on such activities within Pakistan.

Additionally, Naqvi noted that Saudi nationals do not require a visa to visit Pakistan, allowing them unrestricted access to the country. The Saudi Deputy Interior Minister expressed the Kingdom’s desire to further strengthen its relations with Pakistan.
