Pakistan and South Korea Strengthen Economic and Cultural Ties

Islamabad, During a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Park Ki Jun, Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain discussed enhancing the multifaceted bilateral relations between Pakistan and South Korea. The session was marked by the presence of leading South Korean company representatives, underscoring the importance of the discussions.

According to Press Information Department, the talks covered various aspects of mutual interest, including challenges faced by Korean companies in Pakistan and the potential for increased cooperation in economic and cultural spheres. Minister Hussain detailed the government’s efforts to boost industrial activity, including the Automotive Industry Development and Export Plan, which has already attracted 13 new automobile manufacturers to Pakistan.

The meeting also touched on the establishment of Industrial Parks and Special Economic Zones as part of the broader strategy to promote industrial growth, with significant incentives such as income tax holidays and duty-free import of capital goods. Ambassador Park expressed keen interest in exploring new investment opportunities, reflecting the strong desire to deepen economic and cultural ties between the two nations.
