Pakistan and Tajikistan to Enhance Bilateral Defence Cooperation

Rawalpindi: Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Minister of Defence of Tajikistan, Major General Saidzoda Bobojon Abdukodir, met with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, in Rawalpindi on Friday. The meeting concentrated on the evolving regional security situation and shared strategic interests.

According to Radio Pakistan, both military leaders emphasized the strong fraternal relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan, exploring ways to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation. The visiting dignitary praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and recognized their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

Earlier, upon his arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, Major General Abdukodir was honored with a Guard of Honour presented by a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent.
