Pakistan and Turkiye Vow to Enhance Cooperation on Regional and Global Issues

Baku: Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to continue close coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern, with a focus on promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the broader Muslim world. This understanding was reached during a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Baku, on the sidelines of Azerbaijan’s Victory Day Parade.

According to Radio Pakistan, Chief of the Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, was also present during the meeting. The leaders reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkiye and reaffirmed their resolve to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The Prime Minister praised the celebrations of Pak-Trkiye Friendship Week, highlighting the deep-rooted ties between the two nations.

Prime Minister Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to transforming its longstanding fraternal relationship with Turkiye into an expanded partnership. This partnership will encompass political, defense, economic, trade, investment, and people-to-people linkages. In line with this commitment, it was decided that a ministerial delegation from Turkiye will visit Pakistan soon.
