Pakistan and US Affirm Strengthening Bilateral Relations in Rawalpindi Meeting

Islamabad: The United States has expressed confidence in Pakistan’s policy to develop its vast untapped mineral wealth through mutually beneficial partnerships. This assurance was conveyed during a high-level meeting between a US delegation, led by Senior Bureau Official for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Eric Meyer, and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir in Rawalpindi.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting coincided with Pakistan’s Mineral Investment Forum, highlighting the US Administration’s priorities in collaborating with Pakistan on mineral development. Eric Meyer also expressed interest in Pakistan’s steadily improving investment landscape, recognizing it as a core area of mutual interest.

The meeting served as a platform for both parties to share perspectives on global developments and Pakistan’s regional security imperatives. Both sides expressed confidence in the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and agreed on the need to explore business-to-business avenues, in addition to expanding existing government-to-government and people-to-people cooperation, to comprehensively strengthen the relationship.
