Pakistan and Uzbekistan Commit to Strengthening Climate Cooperation

Islamabad: Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, called on Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, in Islamabad today. During the meeting, the Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to climate education and innovation, sharing that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif envisions establishing a “Green University” in Pakistan with the potential to promote climate research.

According to Radio Pakistan, Dr. Musadik Malik lauded Uzbekistan’s commitment to climate action, particularly its efforts in launching green and blue energy projects. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan underscored the immense potential for collaboration with Pakistan across various sectors, especially the green economy.

Both sides agreed on the importance of moving from planning to implementation and decided to hold the next round of technical discussions on the sidelines of the forthcoming multilateral climate conference.
