Pakistan and World Bank Collaborate to Tackle Smog Problem

Islamabad: Pakistan and the World Bank have agreed to work together to combat the persistent issue of smog affecting the country. This decision emerged from a meeting held between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the World Bank’s Country Director Najy Benhassine in Islamabad.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, both parties have decided that a joint team from the World Bank and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) will develop a comprehensive anti-smog plan. Interior Minister Naqvi highlighted the importance of the World Bank’s cooperation in enhancing air quality in Islamabad and emphasized proactive efforts to address the smog issue. The potential installation of anti-smog machines in the capital is being considered as part of these efforts.

Minister Naqvi also mentioned that improving conditions in slums and rural areas remains a priority, with goals to provide clean water and sanitation to the population.
