Pakistan Army deployed in Islamabad ahead of SCO meeting

The Pakistan Army has been deployed in the federal capital for security of upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government Meeting, scheduled for the 15th and 16th of this month.

The deployment has been authorized under Article 245 of the Constitution.

According to sources, the decision aims to protect both citizens and property from potential disturbances by miscreants during this high-profile event.

Army troops have already begun patrolling key areas of the capital to maintain order and provide a visible security presence.
