Pakistan Attaches Great Importance to CWC as Pillar of Global Disarmament: Usman

New york: At the UN, Pakistan has reaffirmed its opposition to the use of chemical weapons by anyone, anywhere, and under any circumstances. The stance was articulated by Pakistan’s Acting Permanent Representative to the UN, Usman Jadoon, during a Security Council briefing on the Middle East.

According to Radio Pakistan, Usman Jadoon emphasized that Pakistan attaches great importance to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) as a pillar of the global disarmament regime. He stated that Pakistan supports the Convention’s universal adherence and its full, effective, and non-discriminatory implementation.

Usman Jadoon also highlighted Pakistan’s strong support for Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, which he described as essential for durable peace and stability. He reiterated that Pakistan continues to back an inclusive, Syrian-owned, and Syrian-led political process.
