Pakistan Calls for Comprehensive Resolution Following Gaza Ceasefire

Islamabad: Pakistan has expressed optimism for a comprehensive resolution to the Palestine issue in the wake of a ceasefire in Gaza. The call came during a session of the United Nations Security Council.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pakistan’s permanent representative to the UN, Ambassador Munir Akram, expressed grave concerns over the escalating threats to peacekeepers from both the UN Interim Force in Lebanon and the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization. He also condemned Israel’s continued military actions in Syrian territories.

In related developments, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced that the Palestinian Authority is prepared to take full responsibility in post-conflict Gaza. This includes managing the return of displaced persons, ensuring the provision of basic services, overseeing crossings, and spearheading the reconstruction of the devastated region.
