Pakistan Calls for Immediate, Permanent Ceasefire in Gaza

Islamabad: At the United Nations Security Council Pakistan has reiterated its call for an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

According to Radio Pakistan, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, emphasized the country’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people in their struggle for self-determination during a Council statement. Ahmed urged an immediate cessation of military operations in Gaza.

The envoy highlighted Pakistan’s alignment with the majority of the Security Council and the wider UN membership, reflecting global expectations. He stressed that Pakistan stands for humanity, justice, and adherence to international law.

Ahmed further described the dire situation in Gaza, where civilians are caught between relentless bombardments and a suffocating blockade. He painted a grim picture of the humanitarian crisis, noting that children are starving, hospitals have collapsed, and families are without food, medicine, or shelter.
