Pakistan Calls for Preserving, Strengthening Mandate of UNRWA

Islamabad: Pakistan has called for preserving and strengthening the mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). The call was made by Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, Usman Jadoon, while addressing the UNRWA Pledging Conference at UN Headquarters.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Ambassador urged the international community to provide the Agency with adequate and predictable resources. He also strongly condemned Israeli legislation targeting UNRWA and called for its repeal, describing the measures as illegal under international law.
