Pakistan Calls for Renewed Efforts for Stability in Syria

Islamabad: At the United Nations, Pakistan has called for renewed efforts for economic revitalization and political stability in Syria. Delivering a national statement during the UN Security Council’s briefing on the political and humanitarian situation in Syria, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative-designate to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, emphasized the need for a holistic and coordinated response to the political, economic, security, and humanitarian challenges facing Syria.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ahmad stressed that the lifting of unilateral sanctions is crucial to facilitating reconstruction and aid efforts in Syria. He urged the international community to consider the broader implications of such sanctions on the Syrian populace and the country’s recovery prospects. Ahmad’s statement highlights Pakistan’s stance on addressing the interconnected issues in Syria through collaborative international efforts.
