ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has once again urged Afghanistan to take decisive action against terror groups operating from Afghan territory. Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch made the appeal during her weekly news briefing in Islamabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Baloch stated that Pakistan has repeatedly provided Afghan authorities with concrete evidence concerning these terror groups. She expressed hope that Afghan authorities would recognize terrorism as a significant threat to both regional and national security and fulfill their obligations under international agreements, including the Doha agreement.
The spokesperson also expressed regret over the outcome of the recent UN Security Council vote, which failed to reach a consensus on a resolution for a ceasefire in Gaza. She reiterated Pakistan’s call for an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire, along with unhindered access to humanitarian assistance and full support for the UN Relief and Works Agency’s humanitarian activities.
Addressing the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Baloch urged the international community to advocate for the rights of children and demand an end to their suffering. She affirmed Pakistan’s continued political, moral, and diplomatic support for a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN Security Council Resolutions.
