Pakistan, China to Collaborate on Improved Peanut Seeds

Islamabad: A Chinese agricultural technology firm and a Pakistani agribusiness company have entered into a collaboration to introduce improved peanut seeds, expanding Pakistan-China business engagement. Representatives from Shandong Rainbow Agricultural Technology Co. Ltd and Pakistan’s Uqab Corporation (Pvt) Ltd announced that the partnership aims to modernize peanut cultivation and support long-term agricultural development in Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Chinese company plans to improve peanut seed quality by selecting varieties that are suited to Pakistan’s soil and irrigation conditions, which differ from those in China. This initiative is expected to enhance the productivity and sustainability of peanut farming in Pakistan, contributing to the agricultural sector’s growth and efficiency.
