Pakistan Committed to Harnessing Its Blue Economy, Says Minister

Islamabad: Minister for Maritime Affairs, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to harnessing its blue economy as a catalyst for national economic growth. He expressed these views during a meeting with Vice Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami, highlighting the government’s resolve to position the maritime sector at the forefront of the country’s economic agenda.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting also covered the upcoming Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference scheduled for November in Karachi. Junaid Anwar Chaudhry emphasized that the event will serve as a pivotal platform for both public and private sector stakeholders, aiming to spotlight Pakistan’s maritime potential and provide the desired impetus for economic growth at the national level.

The Minister further highlighted the potential for sectors such as fisheries, aquaculture, coastal tourism, shipping, and port infrastructure to drive economic diversification and resilience.
