Pakistan Committed to Playing Constructive Role for Afghanistan’s Stability: Asim

Islamabad: Pakistan says it stands committed to playing a constructive and proactive role in helping Afghanistan achieve lasting peace and stability.

According to Radio Pakistan, at the meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation in Afghanistan, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, stated that Pakistan supports efforts to stabilize Afghanistan’s economy, revive its banking system, and explore mechanisms for unfreezing Afghan financial assets.

He highlighted that terrorism emanating from Afghanistan remains a serious threat to its neighbors, particularly Pakistan. Ahmad emphasized that there is credible evidence of collaboration between the TTP and other groups, such as the BLA and Majeed Brigade, aimed at disrupting strategic infrastructure and economic development projects in Pakistan.
