Pakistan Committed to Strengthen Ties with EU, Says Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif

New York: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed Pakistan’s strong commitment to enhancing its relationship with the European Union. This affirmation came during a meeting with European Commission President Ms. Ursula von der Leyen, held on the margins of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister discussed the importance of sustained dialogue and cooperation to further shared objectives. The conversations covered a variety of topics, including bilateral relations and issues of regional and global significance.

Prime Minister Sharif also highlighted Pakistan’s dedication to fully implementing the conventions related to the Generalized Scheme of Preferences (GSP Plus), demonstrating a consistent political commitment to the scheme.

Furthermore, he congratulated Ms. Ursula on her re-election as the President of the European Commission and praised her dedication to promoting the interests of the European Union.

This meeting underscores Pakistan’s proactive approach to engaging and collaborating on mutual interests at a global level.
