Pakistan Condemns Profiling of Mosques in IIOJK

Islamabad: Pakistan has condemned the reported profiling of mosques and mosque management committees in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Radio Pakistan, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stated that this intrusion into religious affairs constitutes a violation of the fundamental right to freedom of religion and belief. Andrabi emphasized that this reflects another attempt to intimidate and marginalize the Muslim population of the occupied territory.

The spokesperson highlighted that the forcible collection of personal details, photographs, and sectarian affiliations of religious functionaries is a form of harassment. This is seen as an attempt to instill fear among worshippers and obstruct the free exercise of their faith.

Tahir Andrabi further noted that these actions are part of a broader pattern of Islamophobia driven by the Hindutva ideology of the occupying Indian government. The selective targeting of mosques and Muslim clergy underscores the discriminatory nature of these policies.

He reiterated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have the right to practice their religion without fear, coercion, or discrimination. Andrabi affirmed that Pakistan will continue to support them and raise its voice against all forms of religious persecution and intolerance targeting Kashmiris.
