Pakistan Consulate Cricket Team Triumphs in Diplomatic Cup Final

Dubai: The Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai’s cricket team clinched victory in the 9th Diplomatic Cup Cricket Championship 2025, securing an unbeaten record throughout the tournament. In the final match held on February 9, they defeated Bangladesh by successfully chasing a target of 113 runs in just 12 overs.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, the tournament featured teams from eight diplomatic missions, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The event took place at the Skyline University College’s cricket grounds in Sharjah, UAE, from February 7 to 9, 2025.

The Pakistani team was led by Captain Rahim Ullah Khan, Deputy Consul General and Head of Chancery, who attributed their success to the hard work and dedication of all team members. He expressed pride in their performance and underscored the role of sports in fostering teamwork.

In the semifinals, Pakistan secured its place in the final by defeating the United States, while Bangladesh triumphed over the United Kingdom. H.E. Hussain Muhammad, Consul General, congratulated the team for their achievement and highlighted the importance of sports activities in promoting development, health, and cooperation among representatives from different communities.
