Pakistan Customs Formally Notifies New Off-Dock Terminal at Hawksbay, Karachi

Paris: Pakistan Customs has formally notified a new off-dock terminal at Hawksbay, Karachi, marking a significant development in the country’s logistics and trade facilitation infrastructure. The terminal will be operated by International Cargo Terminals Pakistan Private Limited, a subsidiary of Denmark-based Scan-Group.

According to Radio Pakistan, a ceremony in this connection was held in Islamabad, attended by Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, as the Chief Guest. Other attendees included the Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan, Mrs. Maja Derrous Mortensen, Chief Collector of Customs Appraisement (South), Wajid Ali, and Member Customs (Operations), Syed Shakeel Shah.

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Shakeel Shah emphasized that the establishment of the Hawksbay terminal represents an important step towards modernizing Pakistan’s logistics infrastructure. He noted that the facility will improve cargo handling capacity, reduce congestion at ports, expedite customs clearance processes, and enhance efficiency in the movement of international trade. Shah reaffirmed Pakistan Customs’ commitment to facilitating legitimate trade, supporting investment, and developing modern customs and logistics infrastructure to strengthen the national economy.

Representatives of International Cargo Terminals Pakistan Private Limited expressed their appreciation for the support and facilitation extended by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Federal Board of Revenue, and Pakistan Customs in enabling the development of modern, technology-driven logistics infrastructure to support Pakistan’s trade and port operations.
