Pakistan Customs Vows to Enhance Regional Cooperation with Advanced Trade Facilitation

Islamabad: Pakistan Customs is committed to strengthening regional customs cooperation and promoting secure and technology-driven trade facilitation. This resolve was expressed by a delegation of Pakistan Customs, while participating in the 11th Policy-Level Meeting of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)-World Customs Organization (WCO) Passenger and Cargo Control Programme in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, the delegation was led by Member Customs Syed Shakeel Shah. The high-level meeting brought together senior customs officials from across the region to deliberate on strengthening regional cooperation for secure, seamless, and technology-enabled trade.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Pakistani delegation held a bilateral meeting with Uzbekistan’s First Deputy Chairman of the Customs Committee. The two sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening bilateral customs cooperation through enhanced digital connectivity, coordinated border management, the exchange of best practices, and the adoption of modern customs technologies.
