Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to fostering economic stability and ensuring Pakistan’s resurgence as a thriving nation. Speaking at the inauguration of a six-star Movenpick Hotel in Islamabad, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that Pakistan has begun its journey toward economic growth and prosperity.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister expressed pride in the launch of the state-of-the-art international hotel, commending the Centaurus Group for their nation-building efforts and thanking Movenpick management for bringing world-class hospitality to Pakistan.
Prime Minister Sharif assured that the current government is making extensive efforts to facilitate business and trade to revive economic growth. He highlighted significant growth in exports, particularly in the IT sector, and outlined the government’s vision for economic development across agriculture, industry, IT, and mining sectors.
Addressing economic indicators, the Prime Minister noted that the inflation rate is below five percent, attributing the increase in exports to the government’s prudent measures. He added that efforts are underway to reduce electricity rates to bolster the industrial, agricultural, and export sectors.
In an effort to curb government spending, Prime Minister Sharif mentioned ongoing work on downsizing and rightsizing government institutions. He also invited Pakistani investors to engage in a transparent bidding process for the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
The Prime Minister highlighted initiatives to remove obstacles to foreign investment and improve ease of doing business, underscoring the government’s commitment to resurrecting Pakistan as a great nation through collective efforts.
