Pakistan Embassy in Beijing Marks Defence and Martyrs Day with Solemn Tributes

Beijing: The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing held a solemn ceremony today to commemorate Defence and Martyrs Day, dedicated to honoring the valor and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces. The event saw the participation of distinguished guests, including senior Chinese military and civil officials, members of the diplomatic community, Defense Attaches, and the Pakistani diaspora.

According to Press Information Department, the ceremony was graced by Air Marshal Jia Zhigang, Deputy Commander of the People’s Liberation Army (Air Force) of China, as the chief guest. The proceedings began with the playing of the Pakistani national anthem and a moment of silence for the martyrs who gave their lives in defense of the country.

Ambassador of Pakistan to China, H.E Khalil Hashmi, addressed the attendees, paying homage to the courage and sacrifices of the Pakistani military and highlighting the significance of Defence Day. Ambassador Hashmi also emphasized the enduring partnership and defense cooperation between Pakistan and China, noting the mutual commitment to advancing regional peace and security.

The event also included a presentation on the pivotal moments of the 1965 war and acts of heroism by Pakistani forces, alongside a video showcasing the military’s modern achievements, including its role in disaster relief, peacekeeping, and regional stability.
