Pakistan Emerges as Key Stabilizing Factor in Region: Envoy

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has declared that Pakistan has become a crucial stabilizing force in the region, thanks to its strategic defense, diplomatic, and political approaches.

According to Radio Pakistan, in a recent interview, Ambassador Sheikh highlighted Pakistan’s enhanced international stature and diplomatic credibility following the Marka-e-Haq situation. He emphasized that Pakistan’s fact-based and prudent presentation during Marka-e-Haq has significantly bolstered its global reputation.

Ambassador Sheikh also addressed ongoing issues, stating that Pakistan is still in pursuit of evidence concerning the Pulwama and Pahalgam incidents, a sentiment echoed by the international community. Moreover, he discussed the Indus Waters Treaty, clarifying that it contains no provisions for suspension, and warned that using water as a weapon would be an act of aggression and a breach of international law.

The Ambassador further asserted that if Pakistan’s water resources or territorial integrity were to be threatened, the nation would unequivocally exercise its right to self-defense.
