Pakistan Emerges as Net Regional Stabilizer with US

Pakistan: Pakistan has emerged as a net regional stabilizer with the United States declaring the country a key and important partner in counter-terrorism efforts.

According to Radio Pakistan, while briefing a US Senate committee, Chief of US Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, said Pakistan is a trusted counter-terrorism partner, playing a vital role in the fight against ISIS-Khorasan in the region. He noted that the United States’ strong military partnership with Islamabad has yielded tangible results against terrorists.

He said these mutual successes directly reflect the long-standing friendship and shared commitment between the two nations. Admiral Brad Cooper mentioned that Central Asian partners are closely monitoring the threats of terrorism emanating from Afghanistan under the Afghan Taliban. He highlighted that Afghanistan remains the focus of Washington’s attention due to terrorist activities and regional security threats.

Admiral Cooper also noted that Afghanistan remains at the top of the US watch list due to the continued presence of terrorists on Afghan soil. According to global experts, the US Commander’s statement serves as another international endorsement of Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war on terror, as well as its operational expertise and regional strategic importance.

Analysts say the US CENTCOM Chief’s assessment strengthens the credibility of Pakistan’s counter-terrorism role while exposing the terrorist networks flourishing under the Afghan Taliban.
