Islamabad: Pakistan has officially invited Belarus to explore diverse investment opportunities within its borders, signaling a move to foster deeper economic ties between the two nations. This invitation was extended during a meeting in Islamabad between Ahad Cheema, Pakistan’s Minister for Economic Affairs, and Aleksei Kushnarenko, the Belarusian Minister for Energy.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Belarusian minister was in Islamabad to attend the 7th Session of the Joint Ministerial Commission. During their meeting, Minister Ahad Cheema conveyed Pakistan’s commitment to implementing the decisions made during the session and underscored the secure investment environment Pakistan offers through the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
The discussions also highlighted the potential benefits of Belarusian agricultural technology for Pakistan’s predominantly agricultural economy. Minister Cheema expressed gratitude for Belarus’s full support in this sector and showed interest in a proposal from the Belarusian delegates regarding electric buses, aligning with Pakistan’s objectives for sustainable transportation solutions.
Furthermore, both parties praised the recent signing of Memorandums of Understanding concerning the textile industry, a development that marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
