Bandar Beyla:Islamabad: Pakistan has expressed its condolences over the tragic loss of five crew members during the operation to recover the hijacked vessel, MT Honour 25, off the coast of Somalia.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Foreign Office confirmed that among those who lost their lives are three Pakistani nationals: Rafi Ullah Khan, Syed Kashif Umer, and Mahmood Ahmed Ansari.
The Government and people of Pakistan have extended their deepest condolences to the bereaved families, sharing their grief during this painful time. They have also prayed for strength, patience, and comfort for the families, and for the departed souls to rest in peace.
Four crew members were injured in the incident, including three Pakistani nationals. They have been taken to a nearby hospital where they are receiving medical care. The surviving crew members of MT Honour 25 have been brought safely ashore at Bandar Beyla.
A team from Pakistan’s Embassy in Djibouti is heading to Bandar Beyla to assist the Pakistani nationals. The Government of Pakistan, through its Mission and relevant authorities, is maintaining close contact with Somali authorities and other concerned stakeholders.
The Foreign Office emphasized that every possible effort is being made to ensure proper medical care for the injured, facilitate the transportation of the mortal remains of the deceased, and ensure the safe return of the surviving Pakistani crew members.
