Pakistan Eyes G-20 Membership by 2030, Says Deputy PM

Islamabad: Pakistan aims to join the Group of 20 leading economies by 2030, leveraging its substantial economic potential, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dar addressed the Pakistan Business Council’s Dialogue on the Economy, urging collective efforts among all stakeholders to achieve economic sovereignty. He highlighted Pakistan’s rise to the world’s 24th largest economy and noted a significant decline in inflation, from double digits to four percent.

Dar also underscored Pakistan’s diplomatic achievements under the current PML-N government, including its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. He cited the recent hosting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting and an international conference on girls’ education as evidence of Pakistan’s growing international engagement.

Expressing confidence in Pakistan’s economic trajectory, Dar praised the URAAN Pakistan initiative, describing it as a roadmap for the country’s economic progress. He expressed optimism that Pakistan would advance significantly and secure its rightful place in the global community.
