Pakistan Focuses on Legal Migration Pathways Amid Global Challenges.

Budapest: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the importance of legal migration pathways while addressing the 7th Budapest Process Ministerial Conference in Hungary. He identified major challenges such as prolonged conflicts, economic instability, and climate change that necessitate comprehensive strategies to tackle irregular migration.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Naqvi outlined several legislative and administrative measures Pakistan has undertaken to curb irregular migration. He stressed the government’s efforts in raising public awareness about the dangers of migrant smuggling. In addition, Naqvi noted Pakistan’s proactive steps in enhancing bilateral agreements and forming talent partnerships with European Union countries and beyond, aiming to promote and diversify legal migration pathways.

The Minister also acknowledged the troubling rise of anti-immigrant sentiments globally, which are frequently exacerbated by populist rhetoric. Naqvi’s remarks underscore Pakistan’s commitment to addressing migration challenges through legal and cooperative measures.
