Pakistan is second home of Kashmiris

Srinagar, February 06, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, Masarrat Aalam Butt has said that Pakistan has sacrificed a lot for supporting Kashmir cause and Pakistan is a second home for the Kashmiris. Masarrat Aalam Butt said this in a statement that was read out at a seminar ‘Yom-e-Izhar-e-Tashakkur (thanks giving day) in the backdrop of ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ observed in Pakistan’ organized by JKML at a local hotel in Srinagar.

Masarrat Aalam Butt, who is detained in Baramulla Sub-jail, said that Pakistan’s continued support provided strength to the Kashmiris in their liberation struggle. “The unconditional support Pakistan has provided to the Kashmiris’ struggle for freedom has kept the movement alive. In fact, Pakistan is our strength and the main party of the dispute. It helps us sustain the struggle,” he stated.

Referring to the Kashmir Solidarity Day observed in Pakistan, Masarrat Aalam Butt said that Pakistan had sacrificed a lot for supporting the Kashmir cause. “Besides braving the international pressure, Pakistan is facing worst covert operations from India. The only demand of India is that Pakistan should stop supporting the Kashmiris,” he said while calling Pakistan as second home for the Kashmiri people. “More than twenty lakh Kashmiris live there and have all the opportunities to the highest of positions,” he said.

The JKML leader, Mohammad Yousuf Mir, terming Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan said that Pakistan would remain incomplete without Kashmir’s merger into it. “The Muslim majority state of Jammu and Kashmir had to be the part of the Pakistan that was created in 1947. Kashmir is a part of Pakistan. The war Kashmir is fighting is actually a struggle for completion of Pakistan,” he stated.

“Kashmir belongs to Pakistan and freedom of Kashmir is what will complete Pakistan. Kashmiris are fighting to realize the dream of Allama Iqbal and Mohammad Ali Jinnah,” he added. Mir asked people of Kashmir to observe February 5 as “Thanks Giving Day” to appreciate Pakistan’s efforts for settlement of the Kashmir dispute. People of Valley should always be thankful to the nation which fought three wars for us,” he said.

Others who spoke on the occasion included Mohammad Rafiq Ganai, Molvi Bashir Ahmad, Merajuddin Kalwal, Nisar Hussian Rather, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori and Altaf Ahmad Khan while the JKML representative in Pakistan Ishtiaq Hameed telephonically addressed the seminar.
