Pakistan, Italy Vow to Strengthen Defense, Security Cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistan and Italy have reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new avenues of cooperation in defense and security sectors. The resolve was expressed during separately-held meetings between Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and Italian officials, including Minister of Defence Guido Crosetto, Chief of Defence Staff General Luciano Portolano, Chief of Staff of the Italian Army General Carmine Masiello, and CEO of Leonardo, Carlo Gualdaroni.

According to Radio Pakistan, during these meetings, General Mirza discussed the evolving geo-strategic landscape with his Italian leadership. The Italian civil and military leadership praised the professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces and acknowledged their significant sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

Upon his arrival at the Italian Armed Forces Headquarters, a smartly turned-out military contingent presented a “Guard of Honour” to Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee.
