Pakistan Launches New Programmes for Digital Financing and Housing

Lahore: New Digital Financing, Housing, and Skills Development Programmes have been introduced in Pakistan to expand access to financial facilities. A target has been set to provide financial assistance to 750,000 new borrowers in the agricultural sector through digital financing.

According to Radio Pakistan, under the government’s “Apna Ghar” housing scheme, 11 billion rupees have so far been disbursed. Over forty thousand applications have been processed under the electric vehicle financing programme.

A target has been set to replace one hundred million fans under the Energy Efficiency Financing Programme. The initiative has so far resulted in electricity savings of up to 8,000 megawatts.
