Pakistan Meets All FATF Requirements, Remains Off Grey List: Defence Minister

Islamabad: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif announced that Pakistan has successfully fulfilled all the requirements set by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), stating that there is no justification for the country to be placed on any list.

According to Radio Pakistan, Khawaja Asif made these remarks in a social media post on X, where he emphasized that efforts by India and Israel to bring Pakistan back onto the FATF Grey List have been unsuccessful. The Defence Minister highlighted that the International Cooperation Review Group of FATF reviewed Pakistan’s progress during its meeting and decided not to include Pakistan in the Grey List.

Khawaja Asif acknowledged the support of China, which fully backed Pakistan’s stance, while Turkiye also endorsed China’s position. He further noted that Japan, serving as the Co-Chair of the Asia-Pacific Group, fully supported Pakistan’s efforts.

The Defence Minister hailed this development as a significant achievement for Pakistan, underscoring the fact that despite continuous attempts by India and Israel, the FATF opted not to place Pakistan on the Grey List.
