Pakistan Military Hands Over Body of Afghan Militant to Taliban

Islamabad: Pakistan military has handed over a body of an Afghan militant killed in a clash with security forces in Zhob, Balochistan, to Taliban. The militant was identified as Mohammad Khan Ahmadkhel, who was an Afghan citizen.

According to Radio Pakistan, the identification of an Afghan militant, engaging in armed clashes within Pakistan, underscores the cross-border origins of subversive activities threatening Pakistani nation’s security. It also reinforces Pakistan’s long-standing position that hostile elements, including the TTP, exploit Afghan soil to orchestrate violence on Pakistani territory.

The direct handover of the militant’s body to Afghan authorities highlights the need for cooperation in addressing the shared challenge of terrorism, emanating from Afghanistan. Such incidents also reveal the active participation of Afghan nationals in destabilizing Pakistan and emphasize the urgency of addressing safe havens and support networks across the border.

The presence of Afghan citizens in these incidents highlights the regional dimension of terrorism and calls for robust international efforts to dismantle these cross-border threats.
