Pakistan Navy to Lead Anti-Piracy Task Force

Bahrain: Pakistan Navy is set to take over command of the Combined Task Force 151 (CTF 151) from Turkiye on Wednesday. The transition will occur during a ceremony in Bahrain, marking a significant shift in leadership for the task force.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, CTF 151 is one of the five task forces operating under the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF). This task force was established in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions.

CTF 151’s mandate includes combating piracy, human trafficking, and illegal fishing, with a focus on maintaining open and secure maritime trade routes. This transition underscores the ongoing international efforts to ensure maritime security in vital trade areas.
