Pakistan not to be blamed for ongoing uprising in IOK: Omar

Srinagar, December 04, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, former puppet Chief Minister and Working President of pro-India National Conference (NC), Omar Abdullah has said Pakistan cannot be blamed for ongoing uprising in the Valley and reiterated that the political issue in Kashmir is neither an invention nor a creation of Pakistan but is result of historic blunders and broken promises by successive dispensations in New Delhi.

Omar Abdullah addressing party delegates’ convention at Baramulla said to blame Pakistan for the political situation or the current uprising in the Valley is a distortion of the truth.

He said the situation today stands compounded due to the refusal of the government in New Delhi to even acknowledge that a problem exists in Kashmir. He said PDP’s charade of seeking CBMs and political initiatives could not conceal the party’s brazen abandonment of its own ideology and vision document in a bargain to attain power.

Taking a dig at PDP-BJP coalition regime, Omar said alienation in Kashmir had been compounded by the opportunistic PDP-BJP alliance whose inherent contradictions had translated into never-ending U-turns on crucial evocative issues.

He said loss of over hundred innocent young lives in the current uprising and the unimaginable and indiscriminate repression of youth has been the most noticeable hallmark of the PDP-BJP alliance and Mehbooba’s refusal to acknowledge her failure has only compounded the misery of the people.
