Pakistan Observes Black Day, Calls for International Action on Kashmir

Islamabad: In his message marking Black Day, the Federal Minister for Law, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, reiterated Pakistan’s call for international attention to the plight of Kashmiris under Indian occupation. The observance serves as a protest against the unlawful invasion by Indian forces on October 27, 1947, in Srinagar, and highlights the subsequent history of human rights violations in the region. The minister emphasized the urgency of implementing United Nations Security Council resolutions to ensure the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

According to Press Information Department, Senator Tarar’s statement underscored the continued oppression and severe human rights abuses committed by India in Kashmir, including the imposition of stringent laws to control the land and resources of the Kashmiri people. He called upon the global community to exert pressure on India to cease these violations and to fulfill its obligations under international law for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Senator Tarar stressed that honoring these international commitments is crucial for sustainable peace in the region and for the well-being of the Kashmiri population, who have endured decades of hardship under occupation. He appealed to international actors to take a more active role in addressing the situation, ensuring that the voices of the Kashmiri people are heard and their rights are respected.
