Pakistan Pledges Cooperation with United Nations Member States, President Zardari Announces

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to work collaboratively with all United Nations member states toward achieving a global state of peace and prosperity. This commitment was voiced in his statement marking United Nations Day.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s deep-rooted support for the principles of the UN Charter. He highlighted Pakistan’s extensive contributions to international peace and security, notably through its significant role in UN peacekeeping efforts with military and police forces.

President Zardari also expressed concerns over ongoing violations of the UN Charter’s principles, particularly in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, underscoring the threats to the charter’s vision of universal peace.
