Islamabad: The Ministry of National Food Security in Pakistan is making strides to enhance agricultural productivity through international partnerships, as announced by Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain. The government is committed to collaborating with global entities to bolster food security and offer innovative support to farmers.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Hussain, during a meeting with a delegation from the BGI Group in Islamabad, emphasized the importance of integrating modern technologies into agriculture. He underscored the potential for collaboration between Pakistan and BGI, focusing on training programs for Pakistani researchers and the creation of joint laboratory ventures. These efforts aim to initiate pilot projects that apply genomic research to real-world scenarios.

The initiative includes launching demonstration projects designed to facilitate the transfer of technology and promote its adoption at the grassroots level. These projects will allow farmers and researchers to directly experience the benefits of genomic advancements, thereby potentially transforming the agricultural landscape in Pakistan.
