Pakistan Railways improves operation ratio with cost-cutting and outsourcing

Pakistan Railways has achieved a significant ‘improved operation ratio’ focusing on cost cutting, out-sourcing commercial operation of passenger, freight trains and capitalizing freight market.

According to an official of the department, at present, Pakistan Railways is running 98 daily passenger services on different routes across the country.

He said that Pakistan Railways has skewed expense as it is running 57 percent of its passenger trains under Public Service Obligation to cater the transportation need of masses of remote areas.
