Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Regional Stability, Engages Tajikistan and Iran on Cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, has asserted the country’s dedication to the peaceful resolution of regional issues in recent talks with ambassadors from Tajikistan and Iran. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation across defence, aviation, and economic sectors.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Asif engaged with Tajikistan’s Ambassador Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir, appreciating Tajikistan’s efforts in fostering regional peace and economic connectivity. Ambassador Toir emphasized the strong, fraternal ties between Tajikistan and Pakistan, expressing his country’s readiness to expand collaboration in mutually beneficial areas.

Simultaneously, Minister Asif met with Iran’s Ambassador, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, where discussions highlighted the deep-rooted cultural and religious connections between Pakistan and Iran. They also deliberated on the operations of the Joint Border Commission, acknowledging Pakistan’s initiatives in border management and the need for continued joint efforts.

The meetings concluded with both sides expressing satisfaction with the current level of cooperation and a commitment to further enhance relations in areas of shared interest.
