Pakistan Reaffirms Stance Against Chemical Weapons at UN Security Council

New york: Pakistan has reiterated its firm opposition to the use of chemical weapons by anyone, anywhere, and under any circumstances. The statement came from Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Usman Jadoon, during a UN Security Council briefing focused on the Middle East.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Ambassador emphasized that the Chemical Weapons Convention is a cornerstone of the global disarmament framework. He voiced Pakistan’s support for efforts to achieve universal adherence to the convention and called for its full, effective, and non-discriminatory implementation.

Usman Jadoon also acknowledged the commitment of Syrian authorities to cooperate fully with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. This cooperation is crucial for ensuring compliance with international norms against the use of chemical weapons.
