Pakistan, Saudi Arabia Commit to Strengthen Defence Partnership

Islamabad: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their pledge to further enhance their strong brotherly ties and enduring defence partnership. This commitment was emphasized during a meeting between Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza and Chief of General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili in Saudi Arabia.

According to Radio Pakistan, both military leaders engaged in discussions focusing on the evolving global and regional environment and explored avenues for enhancing bilateral defence cooperation. The Saudi military leadership praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

In recognition of his significant contributions to strengthening the Pak-Saudi relationship, particularly the military-to-military ties, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was awarded the ‘King Abdulaziz Medal of Honour of the Excellent Class’.
